Boston K8s is for people interested in talking about and hacking on Kubernetes, Google’s solution for scheduling and orchestrating containers at scale. With Botkube, you get simple yet secure access to your Kubernetes clusters inside your favorite chat platform like Slack or Discord.

Botkube adds a plugin system that allows anyone to build a plugin for Botkube to add sources and executors. With the addition of plugins in v0.17.0 combined with actions, which were added in v0.16.0, Botkube gains the ability to tie almost any tools together in the Kubernetes/CNCF ecosystem. Pawel, Mateusz, and Blair show off how to get started with plugins, including the new Helm integration—the first executor plugin that allows you to run Helm commands right from your chat tools.

This release adds several new granular filter criteria (labels, annotations, resource name, event.reason, and event.message) which allow you to be even more specific when defining an event source.

In addition, we've added actions! Actions are specific commands that you can configure to run automatically any time a specified event is received (based on those new filter criteria).

This release from the Botkube team includes updates including user-requested multi-channel support and much more. BotKube now supports multiple channels and communication tools using a single BotKube installation in your Kubernetes cluster.
